Antequera, El Torcal Nature Parc and El Chorro

Antequera is a town with a lot of buildings and monuments to visit. Close by to Antequera is the El Torcal Natural Parc with it’s most amazing limestone formations dating back 150 million years ago. There are several walks from 45 minutes to more than 3 hours. El Chorro is famous with the El Caminito Del Rey where there is an impressive walk through the valley and across several suspended bridges of various heights. It is necessary to book before going.

Auto routes

There are several routes by car through beautiful white villages and wonderful sights.

Comares

A seven minute car ride away, at 739m above sea level, this is one of the highest villages in Andalucia with simply breath taking views. A typically Moorish village with two plazas and several bars where you can eat or drink.

Lake Vinuela

A thirty five minute drive away, this picturesque man made reservoir holds 170 million cubic metres of water.The surrounding shores provide picnic and barbeque areas.

Nerja

An hour’s drive away is this costal town with Balcon of Europe and the caves. It is lively here and they have many good restaurants and bars to choose from. Also, there are beautiful bays and wild cliffs.

Velez-Malaga/Torre Del Mar

In Velez-Malaga there is a big shopping-centre and there is aqua park with several slides and pools. If you prefer to go to the beach then you can visit Torre Del Mar which has a lovely long beach with several beach restaurants where you can enjoy the ‘catch of the day’.

Granada

This is a very beautiful and historical city with a lot of sights.
Also there is the famous moorish Alhambra Palace with it’s beautiful gardens. If you wish to visit the Alhambra Palace it is necessary to book before you go. Close to Granada is the Sierra Nevada where you can ski in winter.

Malaga

This city has an old part but also a new one so it is ideal to combine shopping with culture.

Walking

Around Comares there are five marked walking routes ranging in difficulty and time.(1 to 10 hours). You can make a walk to Meseta de Masmullar where you have underground water chambers. Also right on our doorstep there are many footpaths guiding you through the beautiful olive and almond groves.
